Had some fun out in the smithy today with cable damascus, stretched the tang way out and made it an integral. I got they idea to do the handle/guard this way from J. Arthur Loose's "Serphant in the Steel"  knives. Il get her ground and heat treated tomarrow and finish it this week. This was realy fun to do and Il probrably do somemore like it next time I get time to play

Josh,

Thank you for sharing. I think this lady is a real cutie. I can't wait to see how she finishes up.

I like the knife, you did very well. I especially liked the fact that you credited the man who gave you the idea of the integral handle and guard. Nice knife, good design and unique. Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing her finished up.

Thanks guys, I appriciate the compliments. I ground the blade and came across a nasty flaw at the tip, so I clipped about an inch or so off, now its kindof a pirates patch knife lol. The handle detail didnt come through real well in the picture but the pattern is long twisted strands. The hamon was a nice plus. The blade is convex ground all the way to the edge, and shes razor sharp.  Hope you enjoy
