Caution! Testing knives can be habit forming!
One thing I like to see is makers seeking to know the limits of their knives, thanks for sharing.

nice video and like Ed said be careful of testing knives it is very addicting! Now try another cutting test where you dont use a glove. it tests the handle ergonomics as well as cut. probably one of the best things i've ever done was cut a lot of stuff with no glove to help make my handles more comfy.

Very honest test!

Since watching Ed's DVD and the blade Ed and Rex wrecked (tested to destruction) . I have cut up close to 40' of 3/4" rope, as mentioned, very addictive.

Just a side note if I may? There are sure a lot of vid's posted cutting a water-bottles apart, there fun to watch, but it seems odd that there are not more vid's of knives doing real work?

I have not seen* a knife that will cut half the rope a knife made by Ed's instruction will cut.

*I have an American Made butcher knife from a flea-market that will out-cut anything I have made to date,,,,,,but will it will teach you to ware eye protection if you get it anywhere near a flex-test rod. I can not call it a real knife.

That really looks like a cutter ! I know the gloves were probably just an "OSHA" precaution. Any time someone gets out a camera I grab safety glass's immediatly. Since kevin mentioned it, did you edge flex it at all ? I guess your heat treat would be a factor, what was the steel and the heat treat if you don't mind me asking. It sure looks like it works what ever it is, nice job !
