The nice lady in mail jeep brought this to my door today. About 6 3/4 overall. I've been giddy all day.

Welcome aboard Muss!

I don't know if I should tell you this or not, but you could have joined us even before you got this beauty.

I love to hear the stories behind knives, would you mind sharing yours with this one?
Is this your first Pronghorn?
Did you order it straight from Ed?
When I got my first Fowler I couldn't wait to use it.
Do you have plans for using yours?

C'mon Muss, tell us a story.

OK, here is a short story.  I got his one on the aftermarket.  Of course I have admired Ed's knives for a long time.  I saw this one and it was the size that I prefer.  I'm in a somewhat small Texas town so I will be able to wear this one anywhere and all the time.  I own a similar style knife by Bill Burke so I had a notion of what it would be like.  No offense to Mr. Burke, his knife is great, but this thing is on a whole other level.  The price for Ed's knives always kept me from making the move to one sooner.  I'm almost 61 so I figured I better not put it off any longer if I wanted one.  I haven't been this excited about a knife in a good while.  I intend to wear his one on my belt and accompany it with a little stag handled PJ Tomes 109X in my pocket, know what I talking about Phil?  Wink

Welcome to the form Muss: You are a special addition, #500, I guess it is time for a celebration of sorts. I am sincerely honored that you like your  knife. Don't be afraid to use her, she will be there when you need her.
We are working on new DVDs right now, I made the comment that each knife a maker makes is one note in his concert. Looking at your knife I see several notes, I remember the buck sheep who contributed the handle material and making her.

Muss I know exactly what you're talking about, in fact there was a time, not too long ago, that I carried almost the exact combo. Pronghorn on my belt and a Stag 109X in a slip case in my pocket.

I still have my Fowler's, but I had to part with the 109X. It's an amazing little knife and PJ is still a very good friend of mine.

Here's what mine looked like.

I must say you have excellent taste in knives.  8^D

For the record, I just turned 61 and I lived for a short time in Texas.

I have to confess that I am messing with you a little, Phil.  I am Rob Thomason.  The guy you sold that Tomes to.
Today was my first day of wearing the Pronghorn around.  I stood a little taller, a little more spring in my step, big honkin' grin on my face, and a sparkle in my eye just from wearing it.

Sure do, Phil.  I had to sell a few knives to finance the Pronghorn but that little puppy ain't going nowhere but my pocket.

Welcome to these forums Mr. Rob Thomason!  #500.  I have always liked your "goofy dufus" avatar & photo- find it very entertaining.  Looks like you pulled one over on old Phil, zen master of pranks.  (glad you got him!) Cheesy  Wink

And, nice knife!!!  It is a real beauty- i've had my eye on it for a while.  No question you'll enjoy it!   Let us know..
