IMHO, that is one of the best blades I've ever seen, Ed! Such perfection needs replication before destruction!

Good to see you here, Daniel, and Thank You Kindly. Smiley

Annie and I had a fabulous time at the Fall Test Session, and we are very much looking forward to the next gathering.

Is it me, or have we lost a hear or so worth of the Forum?

I kind of like looking back through the old threads, and I'm glad we have the recent pictures, but can someone explain?

I'm sorry, but I've forgotten who takes care of maintenance, or I'd ask the right person.

Been a while sense checking back in here! I'm really glad to see you testing Ed! That's a nice looking knife, to bad she was got to hot;)  Sometimes mess ups are just the perfect excuse to test! Great stuff. Fantastic group of guys behind you as well.

Thanks Tom, I just heated it a little too hot the last time and it shows all thee way through, should be fun testing.

Left to right, Tom Kirk, Joe Calton, Casey Perdue, me, Chris Amos, Jared Williams and Mark Rich.
These are the men who came to the last testing seminar. I got too excited and did not take pictures or record what happened, this year I plan on concentrating about my job!

Those of you who have something to share, be it some great new process or a failure bring it along and we can all learn from it.

This is the members of the last falls test session. Each one brought a knife to test doing something new and we had a ball. I was too busy running around and learning I did not get a chance to take enough pictures, this year I will take photos and keep a running account of what is tested.

Every year we have a get together of HEPK Smiths who wish to bring something that they have made that will have some special kind of treatment that will reveal something different to those who want to test it. This is my first knife that will be tested, it was over heated before quenching and left a super hardened area that climbs right to the spine. We will test it to destruction this spring. I invite all who are interested to bring something special and share in the learning from what it has to teach us.

Those were beautiful cloths Rad, I am glad you have more. I wiped down a few knives then left for a few minutes and my cloth was gone!! Seems like many folks liked them.

Your daughter is a very nice young lady, you can be proud of her.  I am glad you brought her to the show, she seemed very interested in knives for some reason.
